(As I have said before, this is not targeting anyone in particular. Just noticed yet another flurry of idiocy, with a dash of boredom with sprinkles of frustration on top. Please feel free to criticize my opinion. I enjoy it, as I am a closet masochist.)

Well. Time to rag on my own generation (and younger of course) for the blatant idiocy on the internet.

Let's start with the latter topic: Internet Decency and the Fallacy of Internet Anonymity.

1. This is DeviantArt. You are allowed to express yourselves, but there is a reason why there is a mature content filter. As well as an explicit ban on pornographic material. There is a complete and utter difference between 'Artistic Nude' and 'Shoving all of your fingers in your gaping snatch for your boyfriend to see (as well as the rest of the internet)'. FOR THOSE WHO MODEL/PLAN ON MODELING: Look at the pictures you have taken of yourself. Would you proudly show these to your parents/grandparents/siblings/future employer? I've seen many nude shots on dA that I would personally help the person pad their portfolio and resume with, before shipping them off to a modelling agency. And then there are the folks that follow the 'other' example. These kind of people I have a tendency of politely showing their parents (through a mass google/facebook/image recognition search). U Mad, sluts? :iconcoolfaceplz:

THIS BRINGS UP YET ANOTHER TOPIC

2. WARNING: You are not as anonymous as you think you are. Five to Ten years ago, it would have been hard as Hell to figure out who you were with just a photograph, or even a name. Many people on DA (including myself) are smart enough to not post their real name, but still stupid enough (like myself) to post their other online aliases.
Google, Facebook, and Tineye are the enemies of your anonymity. I kid you not. So, when you post pictures of yourself on the internet that in reality you would -never on bloody Earth- show anyone? You're just expecting for Hell to rain down upon you.

Next topic.

3. What the fuck is with peoples obsession about yaoi/yuri? Especially with younger women. 'Oh my gawd, hot gay sex is so hawt :iconmoistplz:'. I've actually dabbled into said yuri and yaoi in order to understand the appeal. You know what I see?

Shit. I see male on male 'rape' in which the guy normally ends up accepting and enjoying it. There is no emotion in any of the characters, no sense of trauma from the crushing and daunting realization about how their parents would react, no self-loathing after the rape like what happens in reality. Nope. All I see is :icongooshgooshplz: OH I LOVE YOU PLEASE RAPE ME MOAR. And then it all boils down to me hating the anime weaboo worshiping retards of my generation for not understanding concepts of a good storyline.

This is why I play video games and continue being a recluse.

Actually not all yaoi is rape, I've seen stories where it's actually people developing a crush, falling in love, actually relationship, etc etc. Hell, I even have my own story (which is not on this profile) that's one of them, cutesy, lovey dovey type yaoi's...mostly shonen ai (boy love).
The yaoi= rape thing is once again, a negative stereotype, like furries raping animals, I'm a furry myself, and I would never dream of such a thing...hell, if I found out some "furry" raped a fox(or any animal) I would kill them in the most horrific way imaginable :iconeyetwitchplz: But anyway.......yeah, negative stereotypes. Whic it seems any fandom I'm apart of has a negative stereotype....just my luck....uuuuggggghhhhh....... :icontableflipplz:

You're trying to hammer -common sense- into people who -might like Justin Bieber-. Let's just let that sink in for a minute.

Bashing -that- crowd over with, anyone who -hasn't- realized that THE INTERNET IS A BAD PLACE TO POST COMPROMISING INFORMATION is probably DUE for a nice hard reality check to the face, groin, and generally ANY OTHER SQUISHY BITS AVAILABLE. It's modern Darwinism. They don't die, but -damn- do they get shit on.

And I think the thing with yaoi/yuri is pure sexual gratification with a dash of "I can't get this so it's super hot". It's not rape they're looking for so much as that shock and awe factor along with possibly really rough stuff. Rape is one of those words that has been abused so hard its backdoor is -gaping- with meaning. Proper rape (dear god I just used the words proper and rape in conjunction) is a powerful storytelling tool often used for artificial drama. "O NOES HE LIEK TOTES RAEPED ME PLZ BE MAD AT HIM AND LIEK SORRY FUR ME" is the general tagline there. And while I've been guilty of abusing the meaning thing a little, as a plot device, I only have ONE character that's ever had it happened, and they still do not associate with that gender very well GOD FORBID they ever talk about it. EVER.

You make good points about internet privacy. You put something on Facebook for 15 minutes and it can ruin your entire life. It's something they actually address in college courses these days.
